The TAWS / EGPWS (Terrain Awareness & Warning System) course is produced in accordance with the requirements set out in EASA.
All Turbine operated aircraft having a certified take off mass in excess of 5700 kg, or and approved seating configuration of more than nine, must be equipped with a ground proximity warning system that includes a predictive terrain hazard warning function (terrain awareness and warning system — TAWS).
The course is based on the Honeywell, Enhanced Ground Proximity Warning System (EGPWS) Mark V and Mark VII systems. However, the modules described in the course are valid for any TAWS system provider.
