Winter Operations training and Cold Weather Operations Training is important courses where you learn how you deal with freezing rain, de-icing fluids, anti-icing fluids, slush, temperatures above or below freezing and more.
Being aware of and understanding the formation of ice and the importance of ice detection, contamination and its effects on safe flight brings major safety improvements to winter operations and also cut needless costs.
There can be no such thing as too much knowledge in this aspect of aviation. Every year several accidents are attributed to the consequence of ice and contamination on aircraft performance. The Winter Operations training program provides the trainees with useful knowledge that can be applied to secure safe operations both on the ground and in the air. It includes all the topics required in the proposed JAR/FAR training regulations.
Operators usually realize the possibility of encountering icing conditions in areas where winter is unavoidable but there are hidden dangers in regions where winter weather aspects are not so obvious. Scandinavian eTraining Center has successfully learned to adapt to the realities of winter and the large weather variations of the seasons.
This program is intended to share this information with other airlines and their pilots worldwide.
This course is designed for:
Flight crew and personnel who are obligated to conduct a Winter Operation course. Some airlines includes the cabin crew to obtain knowledge this subject. The course complies with EASA.
This course is divided into 4 sections:
- Certification Standards and Aircraft system
- De-icing fluids, Anti-icing fluids
- Runway Conditions.
There is also a special edition of the course which is type oriented for SAAB 340/2000
